Hello.
I am a Swedish 700 owner. Sorry if i write in English but i can,t speak or write in german.
I wonder if anybody can help me with my gearbox.
i only have 6 gear, the 7 gear is locked. so it only goes in 20 km/h.
Is it a big operation to open fot the 7 gear?
Its an old 700 from 1983 and the gearshift is in middle of the traktor.
I am very tankful if anybody in this forum can help me.

I have just been MB Trac 700 1982 owner.

All MB trac that was sent Sweden have the high gear closed.
so i only have the 5 and 6 gear. But in the manual is there 7 gear.
Is it a big operation to get the 7 gear in action ?
This is the old gearbox with gearshift in the middle.

Hello Verner?

I will try to explain or to give you an idea of the work you´re going to do.

At first you have to check for the stick which you switch from the offroad gears to your road gears. In the picture i send its the stick in front of the main gearstick with only two positions. I hope you have it because the 700 does also run only 25km/h in the offroad gear.



But your also right if it runs in the second road gear (6) 25km/h. In the third it goes around 40km/h.
The third and fourth is locked in the head of the gearbox (in the cover of it)
You can unlock it but its a little work to do this.
You have to rebuild your cabine to work on the cover of the gearbox.

I´m not the gearbox crack but these are the first few steps you can check. Further explanations are very difficult to explain in english.

Normally they have it also in english. But i don´t know how detailed the explanation of unlocking the gearbox in this books are.

on the attached picture you can see the speedometer of my German - 700 MB Trac.

I can see, that my 700 would run about 25 - 30 km/h in the 6th gear depending on the rpm.

In Germany the 8th gear is locked. The 7th gear is open and so I can drive easily 40 km/h.

Are on your 700 the 7th and 8th gear locked?

Perhaps it would be helpful, to give us the vehicle identification number, because with the datas you can see all the specifications of your MB Trac.

(search for Wer kann mir eine Datenkarte mit SA erstellen ?)

I don't know if there are different gearboxes and gear ratios.

Excuse me, that I can not give you some help to open the gearbox and unlock the gear.

have a side switch had the problem
he was registered with 32 Km / h.
My workshop has built another wave,
where a ball locks the 4 course.
In your 3 and 4 transition is blocked.
